Calling all artists…here is your chance to paint or draw on a property protected by TLT with a conservation easement. We supply the location, you supply your materials.
This year’s paint out will be held at Orion Organics, 400 N Enon Rd, Yellow Springs, OH 45387.
This is a free event.
Rotational Grazing: One path to Regenerative Agriculture

Join Tecumseh Land Trust and the Finkes family for a tour of Finch Creek Farms to learn about rotational grazing, soil health, and livestock health. This event is rain or shine. Please bring a chair if you wish to sit during the presentation.
Native Plant Sale
This year’s Native Plant Sale is going to be different from previous years.
We are bring in stock from a grower rather than swapping or donating plants. These will be very healthy plants raised in the tri-state area. We will have native flowers, grasses, trees and shrubs.
Site of the Native Plant Sale is Whitehall Farm.
There will not be a Native Plant Sale and Swap on Earth Day.

12th Annual Solstice Poetry Reading
Join us for the 12th Annual Solstice Poetry Reading, co-sponsored by Tecumseh Land Trust and Glen Helen

The theme this year is “Grounded," poems inspired by natural places similar in geography and spirit to those that ground us are quite welcome, but you may interpret the theme as you see fit.

Black Farming Conference

Conference & Workshop Registration Form
The 2023 Black Farming Conference, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 29-30, is hosted by the BIPOC Farming Network in partnership with the National Afro-American Museum & Cultural Center and Central State University Extension. All activities are FREE to attend, however there is limited seating and registration is required.
The event will kick-off with a Keynote Dinner on Friday, September 29 at the National Afro-American Museum, 1350 Brush Row Rd, Wilberforce, Ohio, at 6:00 p.m. featuring Timothy Lewis, Founding Partner, of Rid-All Green Partnership in Cleveland. SEATING IS LIMITED. You must RSVP by Wednesday, September 20.
On Saturday, September 30, a Farm Fair, with vendors, exhibits, food trucks, demonstrations, and other fun activities will be held at the National Afro-American Museum & Cultural Center located at Central State University and other sites on the campus. The event is open to the public, no-registration required. However, there is limited spots for workshops and skillshares. Complete details are available below.
Prior to the conference, you will receive confirmation of your seating for the dinner and enrollment for skillshares and workshops that require registration.
Any underserved farmer attending the Black Farming Conference is strongly encouraged to sign up for the 2501 Program, which provides professional development stipend through CSU. The stipend is paid after attending the event with the intention of covering costs to participate, such as lodging and travel.

Camp Hugh Taylor Birch Scout Camp

The Tecumseh Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Tecumseh Land Trust protected Camp Hugh Taylor Birch with a conservation easement in 2011. Since then, the Scouts have worked to improve the camp and conservation values. After a brief TLT business meeting, we will learn about and tour the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) funded projects.
We will meet at the Turner Building near the entrance of the camp. There is plenty of parking close by. This is a family friendly event. Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Wetland Restoration with NRCS
Put on your boots & your raincoat and head on out to tomorrow’s- May 2-Wetland Restoration Event with NRCS
Rain or shine (wishful thinking for shine) we will hold the wetland restoration event tomorrow at 9:30am. If the weather is bad we will do the talks in the barn and the hardy among the group can walk to the wetland after the talk. See you in the morning!
Bill Agle, Clark County farmer, and Nate Weber of NRCS will showcase a wetland restoration project and highlight the benefits of NRCS’s Wetland Restoration Program.

Apple Blossom 5K Run at Peifer Orchards
Run or walk a delightful 5K through apple and peach orchards! What a beautiful setting and a healthy activity.

Run, jog, or walk through the blooming fruit trees at Peifer Orchards. This is a great way to kick off your Earth Day weekend and support a fantastic conservation organization, Tecumseh Land Trust. This is a family friendly event! Just a heads up, the course is through the orchard. It is not paved. It could be difficult for regular strollers.

Grain School
This three-day immersive course (sponsored by Agraria, Antioch College, Tecumseh Land Trust, the Appalachian Staple Foods Collaborative, and Cornville Seed) will explore the history, culture, cultivation, and culinary uses of ancient and heritage grains. Day one highlights farmers, day two brewing, malting, and milling, and day three baking, marketing, policy and a field trip to heritage grain farmer Jon Branstrator's farm.
